This is the second and final installment of the 2019 Year-End Special of our weekly show What’s Happening in Brazil.
We spoke with political activists who fight for the rights of indigenous peoples, black people, peasants, and rural workers amid the numerous setbacks they have faced under the far-right Jair Bolsonaro administration.
The year was also marked by a number of attacks against cultural and education policies, with budget cuts and episodes of censorship promoted by the government.
